Stephen Lawrence Day 22nd April 2021

The story of Stephen Lawrence. This is sadly one of many stories where innocent young people lose their life being attacked because of the colour of their skin. It is unimaginable what something like this does to a family. It is heartbreaking, heart-wrenching, life-shattering.

What the person who lost their life went through. A parent losing their child in such a terrible way…..

1. Introduction

The story of Stephen Lawrence. This is sadly one of many stories where innocent young people lose their life being attacked because of the colour of their skin. It is unimaginable what something like this does to a family. It is heartbreaking, heart-wrenching, and life-shattering.

What the person who lost their life went through. A parent losing their child in such a terrible way.

We believe so strongly in having your voice being heard. It is so important to the difference it can make in a situation. It is so important to the way it helps to make you feel as a human being.

In this case, because of the sheer determination of Stephen Lawrence’s parents and family, they got the rightful justice for their son. And because of this, what happened to their precious child will never be forgotten.

When you know an injustice has been done, you can find yourself full of strength and that keeps you going, knowing there is justice that can be done although unfortunately, it would not ever bring your loved one back.

But no matter what knowing that you are pursuing, this is what enables you to get up each day even though it might be the hardest thing to do, this is what can keep you going with every single fob off you might get or any obstacles you might be facing.

Knowing there is a greater cause, you keep going because your justice will come to light.

The following quotes come to mind:

This is something my sister and I stand by in our own fight for justice for our Dad. We will not be brought down, we will not doubt ourselves. We know why we are doing this, and this is what is keeping us going. Each time we have faced a setback, we turn it around to our advantage and come back with stronger point’s. Our Dad lost his life, we will never have him back again. But we are doing this in his honour as his life meant the world to us and all who knew him.

My sister and I have so much admiration for Baroness Doreen Lawrence Dr Neville Lawrence and their family. It should never have taken 19 long years to get the outcome that they did. But because they did not give up no matter what, they got there. They truly are inspirational and admirable.

5. Our Final thoughts/Our YouTube video

Throughout our life, like many people, we witness trials in court that come to justice many years after the incident has occurred.

When that moment is shown if a family member speaks of the outcome and how they are feeling, their true and raw emotions are so evident. Almost as though they have been transported back to the day that the incident happened, or to the times they went through during the years after.

More than ever now, my sister and I can truly relate to things like this.

Since what happened to our Dad, we have been on a three-year battle to get the justice our Dad so rightly deserves. This is one of the hardest things we have ever done in our entire life.

But we are determined, we will continue, we know there has been an injustice and this is why we will continue to pursue in our aim and our goal. Our Dad meant the world to us, we will do our very best to ensure he gets the justice he so rightfully deserves.

Our complaint is not just for our Dad, it is for all those considered to be “elderly” all lives matter no matter your age or colour of your skin.

We remain positive that we will be heard.

    1. Thank you so much for your positive encouraging feedback. We truly appreciate it.🖤 When deciding to do this as a topic we were trying our best to do it justice in capturing as much of the full story as possible (the background story) while also providing enough information about the day itself.

We are happy to know we achieved this.

Wishing you a great remainder of the day, weekend and week ahead
