1. Introduction to the topic

From 15th May – 15th June is National Smile Month. The purpose of this is to promote oral health/hygiene and bring healthy smiles to people.

My sister and I feel very strongly about oral hygiene. Especially even more since what happened to our Dad. In September 2016, he was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition called Infective Endocarditis. This serious condition started in his gums. We had never heard of this condition before, and couldn’t believe that something so serious started from the gums. Because of this my sister and I will always try our best to help to spread awareness of the condition Infective Endocarditis we have a topic on it, and also a topic on Infective Endocarditis and Blindness. We will also always try our best to help promote the importance of oral hygiene, and that is why we are doing this as a topic.
