1. Introduction

Sharing our story and trying to help to spread awareness was one of the main reasons we started our Blog.

Throughout our journey we have dealt with many different situations, we have learnt many new things (most of which have been self-taught as part of our experiences) and this is why the topics covered in our blog are quite broad.

As well as talking about our grief experience, we also speak about Health, Mental Health, and Mental well-being. The reason why we talk about these things is that they are all relatable to our story. A story that began in September 2016 when our Dad was hospitalised due to a rare and serious life-threatening heart condition: Infective Endocarditis that started from his gums.

At that time we had never heard of it and had absolutely no idea of its causes and symptoms. Unfortunately, the bacteria went into his eyes causing him to go blind (we have a topic on Infective Endocarditis and Infective Endocardtitis and Blindness). Due to the Infective Endocarditis infection, he suffered from Delirium fairly frequently (we have a topic on Delirium and Delirium Awareness. This was a scary, sad and soul-destroying experience for us all.

When a loved one is going through something that you have never heard of or do not understand, it can make the situation even more stressful and distressing.

This is why when we become aware of Awareness Days/Weeks/Months we always try our very best to share them, this is to highlight medical conditions, rare diseases, causes that promote health and wellbeing.

There are many awareness days/weeks within May, here we have tried our best to feature as many as possible.

Please see May Awareness Month 2021:
