1. Introduction

We, fortunately, became aware of this just by chance today. Thankfully through a friend sharing this information is how this all came about.

Although we are posting it late in the day, we are thankful that our friend shared this with us.

Our blog started because our Dad became ill and was hospitalised in September 2016 sadly passing away in March 2017. He was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition called Infective Endocarditis. We had never heard of this condition before. It was very unsettling, uncertain worrying times, just to list a few emotions. We have a topic on Infective Endocarditis which explains the condition in further detail.

I have two young nephews, they are growing up in a world that we have never known before, their mental health and wellbeing is something that needs to be recognised.

Men’s awareness is something that we will always try our best to spread awareness where possible. Men’s health can unfortunately be considered a taboo subject. It shouldn’t be so, all health and wellbeing are important including Men’s especially when there are illnesses, and conditions that affect them greater than women. This is another reason why we wanted to do this topic.
