Profound Grief

My sister and I came across this term by chance but were intrigued to find out more and what it meant. It just so happens we could relate to this term.

It spoke to us as to how we feel about our situation and the loss of our Dad.

Profound felt like such a fitting term, because the loss of our Dad has been exactly that, a profound loss….

1. Introduction

My sister and I came across this term by chance but were intrigued to find out more and what it meant. It just so happens we could relate to this term.

It spoke to us as to how we feel about our situation and the loss of our Dad.

Profound felt such like such a fitting term, because the loss of our Dad has been exactly that, a profound loss.

As well as that when talking about our loss, it feels like we are talking about a recent loss. We still cannot believe it’s been four year’s since our Dad was here with us on this earth.

The definition we came across was:

What is Profound Grief

“Describing what Profound Grief Disorder is, Phil said: “You find that you still have very extreme emotions over the death, or regarding the person who has died.” He sees his life as “an existence” and said, “it’s really not like living at all.” (21 Mar 2019)

We truly are on a journey of learning and discovery and this blog is helping us a great deal in our experience and grief journey. We know we feel this way, sometimes we do find it hard to define or explain the ways we are feeling. To come across this brings us some comfort as it helps to make us aware grief can make you feel this way.

We all experience loss in life, although it is something you can never be prepared for, it is something we are guaranteed to endure. My sister and I over the years have attended family funerals. I myself sadly lost a very close friend. This loss touched and affected me deeply for many years. Even with all the loss, we have experienced, absolutely nothing would have ever been able to prepare us for the loss of our Dad. This is a loss like no other that we have ever known or gone through. The following quotes also resonated with us and this topic:

5. Our Final Thoughts/YouTube video

We were happy to come across this term. As we have often said our blog is journey of learning and discovery. Ocassionally, when we are doing research things that we were not looking for or aware of are presented to us. In those moments we feel this has happens for a reason. That reason is so that we can continue in our aim and goal of sharing in the hope of helping to spread further awareness.
