1. Introduction our story
Lately, we have been feeling all sorts of ways. Upside down, topsy-turvy. It does not feel as though anything feels right or settled.
It feels like we are living in a parallel world. It definitely feels like we are back inside a bubble. What bubble this is isn’t clear. Nevertheless, that’s definitely how we are feeling. It’s almost as though the lockdown being enforced has highlighted how we feel as in wanting to or feeling like we need to withdraw as worldwide we isolated due to this unfortunate pandemic.
The lockdown measures crossed paths with our feelings of the loss of our Dad, whereby we do not feel social at times, or that we are not truly existing in the present. It’s almost as though because of our unresolved acceptance of the loss of our Dad, combined with the measures of the lockdown we have taken self isolating, to a point where we have to work extra hard to bounce back once again and function as best we can with every day life and living as lockdown measures are starting to ease.
When our Dad was in the hospital, our focus was on his health and wellbeing both mentally and physically, whilst also making sure our Mum was/is okay.
With the unfortunate way the circumstances turned out with our Dad sadly passing away, we are even more extra protective of our Mum, therefore our mum’s health, both Mentally and physically is of even more importance, especially during the lockdown as our Mum was required to sheild due to her “age”. This situation caused us great concern (as it would have done the same for many others worried about their parents/grandparents/loved ones during these times), our Mum is all we have left, and so we make sure we do the very best we can for her, just as we did with our Dad when he was here with us. We are so thankful we were blessed with our parents. They are amazing people, and this is why we do everything that we do.
Throughout our journey, we believe we receive signs from our Dad, signs that show us encouragement, and faith that we are going along the right track. And that even though we feel low, the signs being sent from our Dad is showing us is that things will be okay.
We are truly thankful for these signs whether it be:
- Flowers blooming from our Dad’s Garden
- Our Dad appearing in our Dreams (we have a topic called Visitation Dreams and Signs – Guest Feature Tree Carr – Lucid Dream Tree)
These signs always come at the time when we most need it. When we are truly feeling at our lowest point, not knowing where to turn, and hoping that the decisions we have and contiune to have to make are the best ones for our situation.
We feel truly blessed, and truly do take comfort in these signs that are sent to us. In some ways, they validate our purpose and make us feel as though our Dad is happy with the choices we are making through our journey and circumstances. We value knowing our Dad would be pleased, and proud even of what we are achieving, it is very important to us.
Lately, we’ve been seeing the following fairly frequently:
- White cat
- White Dog
- White Butterfly (All three of these examples are featured in our topic on Anxiety)
But most recently we saw a white feather. It is almost as though it was so bright that my attention was drawn to it. There was no way I would have been able to walk past it and not notice it on the ground before me.
This sight intrigued us so much that we took a picture of it, I then told my sister what I had seen, and then googled it to find out its meaning.
As we often state, we are not experts in any way, we are talking about our experience, and how the things we see, encounter and experience make us feel. That is why we give varying examples of what we discover when researching on the internet. We are all individuals and have individual experiences and beliefs, therefore we understand that although we are sharing this experience in the hope of possibly helping others, the examples in this topic may not be relatable. Our intention is trying our best to make a difference, whilst also trying to spread awareness with what we share.

This holds so much truth and relevance for my sister and I. This is exactly how we feel whenever we receive signs from our Dad. It is hard to describe how grateful we are for this. It really does make a huge difference in us picking ourselves up and trying to bounce back once again.
7. Our final thoughts and YouTube Video
Realising what we are writing. And reading it out loud, it’s surreal. It feels like it’s reality, but reading it out loud and taking in what has been written means is really sad.
It doesn’t seem right. The more time passes with significant events occurring without our Dad being present and involved is the worse it feels. Especially if its something we know our Dad would be happy to be involved in. The following quote feels very relatable to us:
I think this is why we hold onto and value any sign we get from our Dad. We also treasure each sign and try our very best to help these signs uplift us and resume our faith and hope. We also try our best to celebrate good times, and value and appreciate life.
