1. Introduction

This month is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. This time last year we did a topic called September Awareness Month 2020 which covered various awarenes days that were happening throughout the month.

This year we have looked closer at a few of these awareness days individually.

Alzheimer’s is something that has run in our family on our Mums side of the family. We have witnessed family members suffering from this. It is very sad to witness the drastic changes that happen to loved ones who unfortunately become diagnosed with this disease.

When our Dad was an inpatient in the hospital he suffered fairly frequently from Delirium, it is not the same condition, but there are similarities in the way it can change your mental state of mind (We have topics on: Delirium and Delirium Awareness).

Our mental state of mind is always important, but even more so in the times, we are living through mental state of mind is always important, but even more so in the times, we are living through now. The world and how we live in it changed so drastically over the past two years. The Pandemic has caused us to have to live life so differently due to shielding and isolating, no human face to face contact. This would have had a huge effect on people mentally and physically in various ways. If a loved one is possibly suffering from Alzheimer’s, Dementia, or both, it might not be obvious right away especially if it is in the early stages.

In our blog, we always try our very best to help to spread awareness, and this is why we have decided to do this as a topic.
