1. Introduction to the topic

This is not a topic that I planned on publishing. However, it is something that I feel I should share as it is part of what we have experienced on our blogging journey.

Along our journey, my sister and I have been in many situations that have caused us to be anxious. This was from the moment our Dad was hospitalised in September 2016, right up until this very day.

What my sister and I have noticed is that all situations we have faced during this time have heightened and elevated our anxiety to new levels. We try our best to manage our stress levels in order to lessen the chances of getting anxious. And when we do get anxious, we try our best to be as calm as possible to pull ourselves out of the emotion or feeling. All of this is easier said than done most of the time.

You may or may not know that in May 2021 our official Grief Probate Journey Instagram account was hacked. To try and explain what this whole experience did to us, is hard to put down in words. We have a topic talking about the hacking, and we will also do a separate topic on our hacking experience.

From the moment we got hacked and everything that happened whilst we were trying to regain access to everything that we lost truly took its toll both mentally and physically.

I started experiencing problems when breathing in and out, it was starting to feel painful. When it first started it lasted for a few days or so and then went away. I was really happy when it went away as I have high blood pressure and other medical conditions, so I was concerned about that.

Unfortunately, the pain came back, but this time it was so much worse. It was hurting when breathing in and out, and it was extremely painful to make any movements on my right side. Because of this, I decided I should go to A&E to be on the safe side. I am thankful and grateful for the care I was given. Thorough checks were done in a short space of time. When I was given the results, I almost couldn’t believe it. I had strained my chest muscles because of all the anxiety I was experiencing. The hacking had gotten to me so bad that it affected my health. At this point, I knew I had to do everything in my power to not make this happen again.

Thankfully the pain went away. I think knowing exactly what was the cause helped. Because the worry of not knowing caused more anxiety. Since my last visit to the A&E, I haven’t experienced chest pain again. I am very pleased about that.

Just recently our blog turned four years old. We are very proud about this and had done a topic on it. In this topic we were talking about the hacking experience, and that very same day hackers had attempted to get into our Grief Probate Journey Facebook account. I could not believe it and was so grateful I worked out it was a scam. If I had fallen for that again, it would not have been good for me mentally or physically, especially after the loss of our official Instagram page.

Another reason why I chose to do this as a topic is because as well as grief we also share and speak about health and mental health matters. This is why I felt the need and importance to share this in case someone might be experiencing something similar or know someone who is.
